My techie side :

: Newer and better Operating Systems are my passion. E-mail is my life support system. Windows 2000 is probably the best desktop OS for now. Linux is an ok server without the GUI, but too cryptic for general use. Windows 2000 Server is buggy and just too unforgiving, but I use it anyway.

Home Network:

: I use Windows 2000 for servers and workstations, except my own workstation which is Windows XP. When I have a spare server (not going to happen) I might put Linux on it. I don't currently use Windows 9X, but when I did, I used it with the LiteStep shell replacement.

For e-mail I prefer Outlook Express with IMAP4 - it has much better IMAP4 functionality than Eudora. I mostly care about RFC compliant mailbox formats, which is why I switched to IMAP4. Now I don't have to maintain 2 sets of synchronised mailboxes for 2 e-mail programs, something I hated doing all these years. The new centennium 2001 is the start of better e-mail management for me.
